Summary
One of the oldest country clubs in the Denver metro area commissioned the DCPS landscaping team to catalog over 800 trees on their property.
Challenge
For the century old, award-winning golf course who’s played host to Cardinals and PGA winners, understanding the liability of the trees on its property, and conducting basic tree management was important to maintaining their assets.
Solution
To ensure every tree was evaluated for health and insect susceptibilities, DPCS used satellite mapping to identify trees within 10-12 feet of their exact longitudinally and latitudinal location.
After every tree was inventoried, DCPS created an extensive database with identification, condition rating, and hazard evaluations for the various tree species. The Director of Grounds and the Lakewood Country Club team will now be able to access this data for years to come, ensuring they will be able to manage the condition and health of their trees, keeping their property pristine.
