The project began with a thorough planning and design phase. DCPS worked with a third-party design vendor to create a restoration plan tailored to the property’s aesthetic and functional goals. Once the design was finalized, it was submitted to both the client and the city for approval. Following approval, the existing damaged landscape was carefully demolished and cleared to prepare the site for the new installation.
Next, the DCPS team conducted a detailed irrigation assessment to identify the most effective system design for conserving water while meeting the requirements of the new landscaping. Procurement of irrigation components followed, and the installation of a smart irrigation system was completed to ensure precise watering and long-term sustainability. In addition to promoting water efficiency, the system is designed to lower utility costs by minimizing unnecessary water usage.
Following the irrigation work, new hardscape elements were installed to create defined planting areas and enhance the overall site design. A selection of plant material was then carefully placed throughout the landscape islands. The project concluded with a detailed walkthrough with the client to review the completed landscape and secure final approval.
