Our landscaping division is a cross functional team with a  certified horticulturists, arborists, and irrigation specialists working to ensure high-quality services to our clients. DCPS is undergoing significant growth and is hiring talent to grow along with us.

Job Description

A Operations Manager in Landscape Enhancement with DCPS will orchestrate landscape installations/enhancements at DCPS properties through efficient management of all resources: employees, materials, and equipment. The Project Manager will assist DCPS management in maintaining safety, professionalism, and accountability for all work enacted at the shop or on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensure DCPS policies and procedures for maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure all work performed is consistent with DCPS safety policies and procedures
  • Manage enhancement installments to include scheduling, ordering materials, adhering to labor and material budgets, smooth and efficient operations, and quality control
  • Bidding and estimating for renovations and new construction projects
  • Oversee all aspects of crew management to include preparation and execution of daily tasks, safe and efficient performance, training, enforcement of quality standards, and promoting a team working environment
  • Verification of payroll hours with proper allocation of hours to specific jobs
  • Responsible credit card use with receipt tracking and proper allocating of expenses to particular jobs
  • Resource and price shopping vendors for specific landscaping needs
  • Labor and materials tracking and reporting for projects
  • Regular communication with Landscape Division General Manager and providing project updates and change orders as needed
  • Regular contact with clients for project status and updates up to and including final walkthroughs
  • Monitoring completed projects as necessary throughout the season
  • Off-season snow responsibilities
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management
  • Daily
    • Dispatch
      • Check Aspire hours report for yesterday’s hours.
        • Make sure guys are clocking into the correct jobs.
        • Try to discuss any problems with crews before they leave dispatch.
        • Have everyone clock in at the same time
      • Make sure all guys have the PPE they need.
        • Safety glasses, Vests, Trimmer chaps, Gloves
      • Make sure crews have all the equipment they need to finish work.
      • Give your punch list to crews for the day.
        • Check crews’ jobs the day before they’re scheduled to be there. Keep it simple, Only give them things for the day.
      • Make sure crews are doing a daily walk around check on truck and trailer, and a weekly oil check.
      • Ensure everyone is dispatching in a timely manner.
    • Check emails and handle any admin items.
    • Update account manager on operations so they can communicate to customers.
      • Once done, get out of the office and into the field

Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum of landscape construction and project management experience
  • 30 OHSA certification
  • Competent in all aspects of landscape construction, including planting, hardscapes, irrigation, rocking, demolition, etc
  • Proficient in heavy equipment use and safety operating procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in reading and implementing blueprints.
  • Excellent communication skills in communicating with management, employees, and clients.
  • Ability to participate in fieldwork as necessary.
  • Proficiency in plant identification for plant materials growing in the Colorado climate.
  • Ability to lead others with respect and open communication.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred).
