Denver Apartment Pool

Swimming pool replaster and tile replacement

Denver Apartment Pool

12-story apartment complex

Location

Denver, CO

Summary

Replaster and tile replacement of main swimming pool

Challenge

This 12-story apartment complex in Denver, CO, has one main swimming pool. The pool had experienced typical wear and tear. Therefore, it was time to replaster and address broken and chipped tiles.

Solution

Replaster the main swimming pool and replace underwater tile, waterline tile, and accent wall tiles.

For the opening date in May, the customer selected DCPS to complete the project in March. Before starting work, we develop a custom work schedule to ensure minimal disruption to tenants and visitors, provide a dedicated project manager to address questions, and keep the customer informed every step of the process, sending a weekly report with photos.

It took our experienced crew one week to replaster and replace the tiles. The team first addressed the tile issues by replacing missing and broken tiles, grouting, and washing the surface.

To ensure the newly installed plaster properly adhered to the surfaces, the DCPS crew prepared the surface by chipping out the existing deteriorated plaster with pneumatic tools and disposing of the debris. They then cleaned the surface with an acid wash. Once the interior of the pool surface was dry, the team applied a bonding agent followed by a finish coat of blue aggregate and a final wash, and clean of the surface was conducted before filling the pool.
